1995

It was a time in my life I will never forget. The year was 1995, and I was ten years old. I was still very young, but I was old enough to know exactly what was going on. My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.

I remember the morning she went into surgery to get her right breast removed in order to rid her body of the cancer cells. Thank God my Mom took the proper precautions of early detection by getting a mammogram.  It saved her life! Only one could imagine what would have happened if she detected the cancer any later. I remember I couldn't stop crying that morning, and wondering if my Mom was really going to be okay. I can't even imagine going through what she went through, but I am more than grateful for the fact that she is still alive today, has beat the disease, and has been a breast cancer survivor for 14 years.

The very one word that comes to mind when I think of my Mom along with the many other women who have been fortunate enough to survive breast cancer or who are in the midst of fighting the battle, is resilience. I truly commend all of you, and we are all in this together to one day find a cure for this disease which effects the lives of many women each day.

Here is a picture of my Mom and I, along with one of my promotional models, Lindsay G. of the San Francisco/Bay Area BOOBIES ROCK! team. We love what we do! Here's to you Mom! BOOBIES ROCK!, and so do you!
